Hi! My name is Alexandra {aka Allie } Phelps, and I create fun, unique and highly personalized meals, events and gifts for my clients.
I grew up in Napa Valley, surrounded by people who are passionate about food and entertaining.
Having worn many hats over the years, I have taken bits and pieces of each and applied them to a career that is full of delicious, beautiful, joyful elements.
After I attended Culinary School in San Francisco, I spent five years sharing my knowledge with curious home cooks as a Chef Instructor at The Cavallo Point Cooking School in Sausalito. For three years, I worked as an Associate Planner for a boutique Wedding and Special Events Company based in San Francisco. Together we produced 40+ large scale events, 7 of which I executed on my own as the lead planner. In 2014, I started my own company called Alexandra Phelps Events, offering Private Event Planning and Specialty Catering services.
I moved back to Napa in 2016 to work as a Wine Educator at my family’s winery called Joseph Phelps Vineyards. After learning the ins and outs of food and wine pairings and passing the WSET Level 2 exam, I turned my focus towards the culinary arts once again and organized and led a committee through the conception and implementation of an inaugural Culinary Program at the winery. With the successful Culinary Program well underway, I decided to re-focus my efforts on my own business and unique offerings.
My time as a Culinary Instructor, Wine Educator and Private Events Planner has given me the tools to prepare stunning arrays of plated foods and to design beautifully curated tabletops for one-of-a-kind private events.
I live by the motto that “we eat first with our eyes,” and I take great pride in the creation of bountiful, colorful and exquisite epicurean delights for all my clients’ events.
In my spare time I love connecting with my family, roaming around local farmers markets, nurturing my small but mighty home garden, hosting dinner parties for friends and dreaming up fabulous parties to celebrate my loved ones. Giving back to the community is also very important to me and I volunteer on a regular basis at The Table, Jameson Rescue Ranch and with Napa NEWS (please visit my Giving Back tab for more information on these worthy causes).
My enthusiasm is driven by the constant inspiration I see at beautiful celebrations and through food. It is my greatest fortune to be able to combine these passions through my work in creative events and culinary artistry at Alexandra Phelps Events.
